Our very own City of Cockburn has numerous events tailored to local families, seniors, youth and businesses. Many of the events are educationally-focussed or promote environmental and sustainable practices. 9 February

Cockburn Central Community Concert:
San Cisco with support act Farraday’s Cage

Free event – Victor George Kailis Oval, Veterans Parade, Cockburn Central 7-9.30pm

Join MC and ‘Perthonality’ Carmen Braidwood as she welcomes San Cisco live on stage and local band Farraday’s Cage. Bring a picnic and blanket, sit back and enjoy this awesome show. Smoke and alcohol-free event. No pets permitted. See back page for advert

Coogee Maritime Trail Guided Snorkel

Meet at Omeo Park, Socrates Parade, North Coogee. 7.30-10am

Discover the marine biodiversity on our door step at Perth’s most accessible wreck and artificial reef. Suitable for children 8 years and over. Adults/parents must snorkel with children up to the age of 16. BYO snorkel and flippers. Breakfast provided.

Using sustainable, recycled t-shirt yarn you will be guided through the skill of knot tying to complete your own piece of art on a wooden hanger, ready to show off in your home.

Worm Farming Workshop

Worms convert the waste into both liquid fertiliser and castings that are great for plants. You will learn all about the art of worm farming with a hands-on demonstration.

Henderson Waste Recovery Park Tour

Free event – Registrations have closed
9.30am-midday

Meet at the bottom of the stairs at the City Administration car park, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood. Visit the Henderson Waste Recovery Park and discover how waste can be minimised and avoided, reused and recycled and how we convert waste gas into electricity. Visit the popular Reuse Shop to pick up a few bargains (cash only).
